The Corgis in PWCCP live in foster homes owned by volunteers who are knowledgeable about the breed. Their temperament, personality, and behavior are monitored which would help find their next family. Some were abandoned because the previous owners can’t tend to their needs any longer while some became homeless because their masters died. The physical location of the club is in Kentucky but it serves the region of Ohio.
Unfortunately, as the breed’s fanciers increase, an alarming number of them have ended up in rescues and shelters. If you are not ready financially and emotionally, then the adoption process will be difficult for you. Some owners become afraid of their own dogs when they’ve seen them become aggressive. Upon adoption, the applicant will have access to the dog’s medical history, including x-ray results and blood results.
During fostering, they are trained and socialized to improve their demeanor. Asking for regular updates will only show your desire and commitment to adopting. Helping the rescue with their activities will also show your pure intentions. Before applying for adoption, research the requirements of the rescue where you will apply.
