The puppies also can interact with the breeder’s adult dogs, which helps them learn how to socialize with adult dogs and feel comfortable in their company. Once they are certified, the dogs are admitted into Lisa’s breeding program. The breeding program strives to maintain the Chihuahua’s distinct qualities while breeding puppies with exceptional health, temperament, and conformation.
In her 30-acre farm, Penny breeds and raises Chihuahuas and German Shepherds. In addition to this, she also raises Arabian horses and a few domesticated animals such as chickens.
She utilizes various enrichment methods such as; crate training, noise desensitization, house training, household desensitization, and various surfaces. They also play a significant role in Penny’s enrichment methods to ensure every Chihuahua is well socialized and can adjust to daily life with you. In addition, when the puppies are born, Penny and her team take turns in a 24/7 watch to ensure they receive all the care, love, and attention they need. She says the lack of human involvement, love and early socialization led the breed to have a bad name which is not their true nature. They breed a few litters every year to ensure the puppies receive quality care and attention. All of the breeder’s puppies are raised in a social family environment with their five kids. The family takes turns in caring for the puppies and ensuring the puppies have everything they need. The puppies are kept current on all vaccines and deworming before they come home to you.
